The moderators of /r/worldnews wish to continue this reddit giving tradition by raising funds for Doctors Without Borders, who are currently hard at work assisting in the relief effort for the Philippines, which was recently hit by a Category 5 Super Typhoon, causing widespread destruction and a reported fatality count of over 10,000.
Doctors Without Borders is a well respected, international humanitarian organization that has existed for over 40 years and operates in over 70 countries around the world. 86.3% of funds donated to them are used in program services, 12.3% are dedicated to fundraising, and 1.3% are reserved for "management and general".
